Schedule of Events:
Friday, October 15th, 2010
- 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Registration and Hospitality in Suite 100
- 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Vendor set-up in the motorcycle shelter
- 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Main Street Parade of Corvairs-line up in Smoky Falls Lodge parking lot
- 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM: 50th Anniversary Celebration of FC's and Wagons and Picnic Supper behind Smoky Falls Lodge
- 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM: Valve Cover Races behind Smoky Falls Lodge
- 9:00 PM - until: Story swapping throughout the hotel grounds
Saturday, October 16th, 2010
- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Vendor sales open for business
- 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Breakfast Buffet in the Grizzly Grill-you may purchase a ticket or pay the $9.00 cost on site.
- 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Pictures of People's Choice Cars in front of the Smoky Falls Lodge-Your vehicle must be photographed before you enter the Show field. Vehicles move to Eaglenest Parking Lot Show Field and positioned as directed.
- 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Hospitality and Registration in Suite 100. Hospitality will remain open until 3:00 PM
- 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM: People's Choice Car Show and Voting-Eaglenest Parking Lot. Door prize drawings every half hour until 3:30, 50-50 Raffle tickets will be sold until the drawing at the awards ceremony.
- 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM: Corvair Games-$1.00 per participant (no matter how often you compete) on the show field.
- 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Dinner on your own-Enjoy Maggie Valley Hospitality
- 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Awards Ceremony and 50-50 drawing in the Grizzly Grill Dining Room
- 9:00 PM - until: Story swapping throughout the hotel grounds
Sunday, October 17th, 2010
- 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Breakfast Buffet in the Grizzly Grill-you may purchase a ticket or pay the $9.00 cost on site.
- 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM: Scenic Drive on the Parkway-Departs the Smoky Falls Lodge parking lot at 10:10 AM.
2009 Vairs in the Valley
The 2009 Vairs in the Valley event was a celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first Corvair. The car was first introduced on October 2nd, 1959 and 50 years later, we gathered to celebrate one of the greatest cars of all time.
